Human Resources

Human Resource Management consists of all the actions that an organisation takes to attract, develop and retain quality employees. HRM, or Workplace Relations  which is probably a more apt description,  is of equal importance to the small business as it is to the large multinational. The only difference is that the larger employers can afford to employ teams of specialists in HR Departments whereas the smaller employers usually can’t due to costs.

This leaves small employers at a distinct disadvantage as regards recruiting, selecting and managing staff effectively. Especially as staff performance has a direct relationship to business success.

However, effectively managing staff on its own will not ensure ongoing success. There is an ever increasing number of legal obligations an employer has to comply with and failure to do so can result in severe fines and possible industrial action. Every Employer must be prepared for inspections by NERA and the HSA, who are just two of the many regulatory Agencies tasked with enforcing compliance with the Law. MHRA can advise on the preparation for such inspections.
